Resumo

A cicatrização tem como propósito restabelecer a homeostasia tecidual. O conhecimento sobre esse processo é necessário, a fim de que se possa intervir e acelerar o reparo tecidual, promovendo a homeostasia do organismo e o bem-estar do paciente. Presente na rotina da clínica veterinária, o tratamento de lesões cutâneas na maioria das vezes esbarra na dificuldade do tratamento devido ao temperamento do animal, causando estresse, relutância à administração da medicação e desistência do tutor frente às adversidades encontradas. Além disso a consistências de pomadas existentes, retardam ainda mais o tempo de cicatrização. Sabendo-se que a água de coco possui propriedades terapêuticas que fornecem benefícios do seu uso para a regeneração tecidual, este trabalho objetivou avaliar a atividade cicatrizante do creme de barreira ACP Derma, à base de água de coco em pó, em cães, mensurar o grau de reparação da lesão em cicatrização e comparar a evolução do processo cicatricial, por meio de avaliações macroscópicas de feridas tratadas com a pomada CMR® e Vetaglós®, já utilizadas na rotina veterinária. Com o auxílio de um punch keys metálico de biópsia de 1 cm de diâmetro, foram realizadas 3 incisões circulares no dorso de 5 cães, sem raça definida, recolhidos do perímetro urbano e previamente adaptados em canil. As feridas foram tratadas com as 3 pomadas e avaliadas do ponto de vista macroscópico nos períodos de 4, 7 10 e 14 dias de tratamento. Houve reduções significativas da área das feridas até o 14º dia, culminando em uma cicatrização satisfatória das pomadas utilizadas para o tratamento. ACP Derma, à base de água de coco em pó, mostrou-se superior na aderência à superfície da lesão e apresentou potencial efetivo na cicatrização de feridas em cães, sendo equivalente ao tratamento com pomadas comerciais já consagradas, tornando-se uma opção terapêutica com melhor custo-benefício.

Abstract

Healing aims to restore tissue homeostasis. Knowledge about this process is necessary in order to intervene and accelerate tissue repair, promoting the body`s homeostasis and the patient`s well-being. Present in the routine of the veterinary clinic, the treatment of skin lesions most often comes up against the difficulty of the treatment due to the animal`s temperament, causing stress, reluctance to administer medication and withdrawal of the tutor in face of the adversities encountered. In addition to the consistencies of existing ointments, they further delay healing time. Knowing that coconut water has therapeutic properties that provide benefits from its use for tissue regeneration, this study aimed to evaluate the healing activity of ACP Derma barrier cream, based on powdered coconut water, in dogs, to measure the degree of repair of the wound in healing and to compare the evolution of the healing process, through macroscopic evaluations of wounds treated with CMR® and Vetaglós® ointment, already used in the veterinary routine. With the aid of a metallic biopsy punch keys of 1 cm in diameter, 3 circular incisions were made on the back of 5 dogs of mixed breed, collected from the urban perimeter and previously adapted in a kennel. Wounds were treated with the 3 ointments and evaluated from a macroscopic point of view in the periods of 4, 7, 10 and 14 days of treatment. There were significant reductions in the wound area up to the 14th day, culminating in a satisfactory healing of the ointments used for treatment. ACP Derma, based on powdered coconut water, proved to be superior in terms of adherence to the surface of the lesion and showed effective potential for wound healing in dogs, being equivalent to treatment with commercial ointments already established, becoming a therapeutic option with best value for money.
